Conservative Supreme Court Continues War on Women
And guess who suffers most? Low-income women. Black women. Rural women.
The Supreme Court just ruled, 6-3, that you don’t have the right to choose your doctor if that doctor is Planned Parenthood.
Let me say that again—because it’s real, and it’s happening right now:
If you're on Medicaid, the conservative supermajority just said your state can block you from getting cancer screenings, birth control, prenatal care, or STI testing at Planned Parenthood.
Why? Because they don’t like where you’re getting care. Not what care. Where.
Let’s stop pretending this is about "fiscal responsibility" or "religious liberty" or whatever dead-eyed euphemism they’re trotting out this week.
This is about control.
And once again, it’s control targeted at women.
Who Gets to Decide?
In Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, the Court ruled 6-3 that states can effectively defund Planned Parenthood from Medicaid programs.
Justice Neil Gorsuch said, with the smug flourish of a man who’s never needed a Pap smear, that people on Medicaid “have no individual right” to choose their provider.
Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wasn’t having it.
“The project of stymying one of the country’s great civil rights laws continues,” she wrote. The Court “hollows out” your right to basic health care.
She would not abide by it.
But the majority did.
Because that’s what they were put there to do.
These are the same justices who swore—under oath—that Roe was settled law. Then tore it up the second they got the chance.
They lied.
And now they legislate from the bench for a party that has barely won the popular vote in a presidential election in two decades—but has rigged the courts for a generation.
This is what minority rule looks like:
Six unelected people making it harder for millions of women to get a breast exam.
They Won’t Stop Here
In South Carolina, Planned Parenthood received a measly $100,000 in Medicaid reimbursements. None of that went to abortion services. None.
And still, the state’s Republican governor said it was too much. Said it “subsidized” abortion.
As if a blood test somehow carries political intent.
As if a woman’s uterus needs government supervision.
Now, other red states are gearing up to follow. Texas. Arkansas. Maybe your state next. And Congress? Oh yeah—they're cooking up a federal ban too.
Because if they can’t outlaw your rights directly, they’ll starve them out through red tape and religious zealotry.
And guess who suffers most?
Low-income women. Black women. Rural women.
People who already live in health care deserts.
People who won’t get a check-up because their clinic lost its funding.
People who will die of preventable cancer because this court decided ideology matters more than human life.
We Are the Majority
Let’s stop being polite about this.
We are being ruled by people who hate us.
Who think women are vessels.
Who think pregnancy is punishment.
Who think the Constitution was carved by God, except for the parts about equal rights.
And they are coming for everything.
As Jessica Valenti keeps warning: contraception, IVF, LGBTQ+ care, gender-affirming health care—it’s all on the chopping block.
This is a war.
Not metaphorically. Not symbolically.
A war—with casualties, blood, and grief.
So What Now?
You get angry. You get loud. And then you do something deeply radical:
✉️ You write a letter.
One letter to your member of Congress.
To tell them this is not okay.
To demand federal protections for Planned Parenthood, for Medicaid patients, for basic human decency.
Congress counts letters. Seriously. Ten? Gets noticed. A hundred? Gets talked about. A thousand? Changes votes.
So let’s bury them.
Bury them in a mountain of ink, stamps, and rage.
Because if we don’t use our voices, they’ll keep taking our bodies.

This isn’t just about policy.
This is about whether you have control over your own body—or whether six unelected extremists get to make that decision for you.

I said, when they overturned Roe vs. Wade, that next, they would come after women's right to birth control! This is their first step to that!
Thanks for the information. This is crazy. I guess they’re gonna treat us like second class citizens the woman of this world we need to get busy.
